My company is interested in live streaming. Up until now the HF200 has served us well to record footage, but now they want to broadcast live.

I can't get the computer to recognize the camera unless it's in playback mode.

hey grant does the HF200 have a USB or Analog outs? you might be able to get your computer to recognize a USB connection, or if you have analog outs, you can get a converter to plug into a firewire port.

It's got everything :) Component, Composite, USB and Mini-HDMI. I suspect I can use the red, white & yellow and use a converter mentioned by Noah to get it to Firewire into a mac. – Grant Oct 15 at 16:42

I'm also wondering the same thing as Grant. Right now I haven't found a solution that can go through USB but I have done the reroute suggested by Ryanne (media cable to composite males, adapter (canopus box usually) back to firewire) and can confirm it works.

The adapters/cables/Canopus box will cost $ but less than a miniDV based camera will!

Hi Grant - there are drivers available to make firewire Dv cams work as a webcam, but the HF200 does not have firewire out as it is an avchd camcorder.

Sorry you are out of luck.
