For capturing demo videos and drawings I have used paid screencast software, but am wondering if there's anything good out there that's free.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) has QuickTime version 10. The File Menu has a new option for "New Screen Recording". |

Check out Camtasia Studio from TechSmith. For an example of Camtasia in use, check out the following sites.
Works on Mac and Windows. ** Note: I would've posted inline links for those two examples, but since I'm a new user on this site, it only would let me post one link. Just Google for those phrases to see a demo. |

For free on Snow Leopard as Doulster says is the latest version of QuickTime version 10. I have used it and can comfirm it works. But it will not replace ScreenFlow which I use a lot. I am testing the beta version 2 right now and it is impressive, with many added tools. The transitions work well as does the direct upload to YouTube. Don't know when it will be out but I think it could be soon. All the best David Allen from Mac20Q |
