I'm trying to make a screencast using CamStudio 2.0 and MEP14 (Movie Edit Pro 14). What Video/Audio codecs should I use to get the job done? Additionally are there any settings I should know about for either MEP or CamStudio to make the two work well together?

P.S. I'm a new user and I could not tag this with the tags camstudio or mep14 or mep. If you are a modarator could you please tag this as such? Thank you. – leeand00 Dec 8 at 0:58

If i remember correctly, CamStudio exports to .avi format. I would go with an uncompressed format and not use the proprietary codec.

I remember I had problems with the video when trying to port it into another editor or program. Depending on the length of the video this could be a huge file. I'd try a small test with and uncompressed .avi and one with the lossless codec.

I'm guessing the uncompressed would be accepted by your editing program.
