I'm trying to figure out what setting to use to compress some.mov files --- they are currently between 2 GB and 6 GB each and I want to make them smaller because I have to share them with some folks who will be editing them in final cut pro.

So I'm trying to figure out what setting to use in Compressor --- someone suggested Apple ProRes but that actually doubled the size of the files.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

If they need to edit them, you do not want to loose ANY quality, so any video codec (except from the rare completele lossless) is not what you want.

You may want to compress them with usual compression tools, like 7zip.
