Netflix movies aren't meant to be downloaded; they are only for streaming.

You could use some sort of screen capture software to take a video of it, and use something like AudioHijack to get the audio, then put them together in a video editing program.

I think it would be considered illegal to do something like that though. If you were going to do it anyway, you might as well just get the movie from a torrent.

If you're on a Mac:

-Snow Leopard has a built in screen video capture feature in Quicktime X.

-For purchase- iShowU, Snapz Pro X, or ScreenFlow

-Audio Hijack Pro for recording the audio from your web browser If you're on a PC

-CamStudio is a screen recording program for Windows. If you search around, I'm sure you could find something else.

-Audacity for audio capture

(Google the programs to find them - I can't post more than one link)

After You get your audio and video streams, you'd have to line both of them up in a video editing program (iMovie is fine for Mac, Windows Movie Maker would work for PC; if you have other programs you should use them)

Hope this helps. Keep in mind that some or all of this might be illegal, and that it would be much easier for you to just pirate it.

Hey gtsorbo, thanks a lot for your answer, at least it's a start. Why would it be considered illegal to capture and save Netflix live video streams on my pc? What if, let's say,I want to watch them on a pc where I do not have any internet connection and delete the saved Netflix movies after I watch them? And anyways I do not want to use torrents, I would consider them much more illegal than my intention to record Netflix movies, at least for Netflix I do have to pay a monthly subscription. Now regarding those apps, unfortunately I do not use a mac so I cannot try any of the apps you suggested would be able to record Netflix movies on it. I'm on a pc, but I was rather hoping I could find an easier way to record and save Netflix movies than using three different apps for this job, as suggested by you. I will take a look at that CamStudio app though, who knows maybe it will be useful after all. Meanwhile I guess it's back to googling for a way to record Netflix movies or possibly a Netflix Video Downloader.

Hi, have you found a Netflix Video Downloader so far? If not, I'd recommend to use super screen capture, I used to use it to record my screen activity a while back for school. But now I'm not using it anymore because I don't need it. But still would be good to check it back and try to record Netflix movies. Never thought at this before and now you made me curious and I'll try to capture Netflix live video streaming, I'll let you know if it's still working. Anyway, if you already found another Netflix Video Stream Recorder and it captures streaming Netflix ok, please tell me your feedback. thanks

I was looking a while ago a Netflix Video Recorder to capture and save Netflix live video stream to my pc, but didn't find a good one that time. Tried many tools but in the end none of them worked. Tried also this super screen capture software, but all I got was just sound and not video, what should I have done with just the movies' sound. Another one was replay media catcher but again didn't work because it was stopping from time to time and it didn't capture the Netflix movie right. Finally I gave up trying and trying, but now since I saw that there are other persons who are looking for a Netflix Video Downloader, I begun to search again. @ Santest I haven't found any working Netflix Video Downloader unfortunately.I did find some discussion on how to capture and save Netflix video streaming on a forum.There was a user who found a way to record Netflix movies, but to be honest it is too complicated for me, would rather use a Netflix Video Downloader instead, which could capture Netflix video streaming easily without me having to do a lot of complicated things. Looking around on google for a Netflix Video Stream Recorder and also found out that Tunebite can be used as a Netflix Video Downloader. I used to use an older version of Tunebite a while ago to convert some protected wmv but now I don't use it so much so I didn't know it could have so many new features. It has been improved a lot during the time. Anyway, I saw on its website that now it can capture Netflix live video streaming, record Hulu, download YouTube and many other streaming online movies and music websites. Of course the older feature, the conversion, is still there, but wow it has way to many features than the version I knew.... Didn't try yet to record Netflix movies but I'll definitely will, because I liked the way it worked when I used it and if it's still working like the old days I will get it for sure. Very interesting thread, I was looking for a way to capture Netflix live video streams a while ago and tried many screen recorders but the ones I tried didn't record Netflix movies. I'll gibe Tunebite Netflix Video Stream Recorder a try and I hope that it would capture Netflix video streaming because if so, I'll have a big collection of movies for watching offline. Anyways, thanks for all the help to find a Netflix Video Downloader that actually works to capture Netflix live video streams, I wouldn't have managed to find a way to record Netflix movies all by myself.

@ Sonty That Tunebite Netflix Video Downloader looks pretty interesting, I will try Tunebite over the weekend to see how it goes to capture Netflix video streaming with it. I do hope this Netflix Video downloader can capture Netflix live video streams without any problems cause I was kinda thinking about giving up the idea of recording Netflix movies. I will put to good use that tutorial on how to capture Netflix live video streams with Tunebite, if I happen to run into any problems.
