Hey, I am trying to put a new logo in the bottom right corner of a bunch of videos. They are 4:3 aspect ratio. I bring the logo in and it looks fine, once i shrink it down though it looks terrible. Any suggestions? I have tried multiple file formats and pre shrinking it down in photoshop/illustrator all with no success.

please help.

thanks,

Mitchell

I have done this by creating a file in photoshop the size of the video and the same pixel ratio --- let's say 640x480 and .91 for NTSC...create a file with those dimensions, transparent background, and import your logo. Size it and position it how you want it to be in the video, set transparency if you are going to have a semi-transparent logo (which is usual). Save as .png file, import into fcp and put on top video line. Should not require any re-sizing, but does increase your final render time somewhat. / B.Vaughan

Did you do a full render to see if that fixes the quality?

Don't resize you graphic. Make it the size you want in Photoshop, save it as a transparent .png and THEN bring it into FCP. Check the motion tab to make sure it's at 100%.

Should be good to go.
