The boss has given me the all clear to spend $150-$200 on a decent tripod for our cameras. What do you suggest? I'd prefer lightweight with a fluid head. I'm using a Canon HF200.

You might want to look at the Matthews M25, here's one source: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/502679-REG/Matthews_M25_M25_Tripod_System.html

I have used with with Canon HV20 and even XHa1 cameras; you might think it was large for an HF200 but if you want to do any kind of fluid head work, the more stable the tripod the better. The collapsable metal jobbies from the camera stores are pretty useless. It's right in your price range, also.

Take a look at the Velbon 607 Videomate, which runs a little less than $100. My partner and I have both used that tripod for a couple of years with Canon HV20, HV30 and XH-A1s cameras. The fluid head works great, especially for the price, and it's lightweight. I spent a whole day a couple of weeks ago shooting a car show and walking around with the Velbon strapped to my back without getting too uncomfortable.
